With our attention span being only 8.23 seconds today, compared to 12 seconds in 2000, snackable, digestible content is the new way!

Did you know that YouTube Shorts now has 1.5 billion monthly active users? And we’ve also seen the trend building for short-form content over on Instagram and TikTok this year.

The Instagram feature, Reels, launched on 5 August 2020, has only grown in popularity ever since, with the Instagram algorithm prioritising showing Reels more than other features. The opportunity for growth when Reels is part of your strategy is so much greater than without! Posting shorter Reels of only a few seconds is powerful because Reels play on a loop. 

It means that your shorter Reel will play on someone’s feed twice from start to finish. And this will indicate to Instagram that this is a Reel to push up in the algorithm, increasing your reach! 

Augmented reality experiences are the future. 

When online shopping rose significantly at the peak of the pandemic, so did the need for businesses to offer unique value for the in-store experience. Introducing… Augmented reality (AR) experiences. 

AR technology is on the rise and expected to become more mainstream in 2023, both in-store and out-of-store, with more than a third of Gen Z predicted to be shopping with AR by 2025. And with trailblazing brands like Miss Dior and Burberry trialling immersive AR campaigns, it’s predicted that AR is only going to get bigger as a serious thing to consider in your marketing plan to help you stand out amongst your competitors.

Be a brand with a cause.

With people caring more about climate change, and the social inequalities and injustices of our world, consumers are also becoming more intentional shoppers. Being a brand with a cause is one of the most important 2023 marketing predictions as consumers look to brands to help them make sustainable purchases more manageable, according to Google Trends.

In other words, the brands that have an authentic and genuine purpose, contributing to the causes their customers most care about, are likely to be the brands that stand out against their competitors in 2023.
