The Southampton and Region Hoteliers launch their first ever Hospitality Awards

The Marketing Collective are proud to sponsor 'Mentor of the Year' Award

The Southampton and Region Hoteliers Association launched a new award scheme at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel this week; to celebrate the Southampton hotels who go above and beyond the call of duty. The 2018 Hospitality Awards have been designed to seek out high achievers and teams of the year, and will amplify the best hotels in the city for customer service, guest satisfaction and market growth

Voting for the Hospitality Awards will take place from now until the end of October, culminating in an awards ceremony on February 8th, 2019 at DoubleTree by Hilton Southampton. The non-profit awards will donate a portion of the ceremony ticket sales to the charity FareShare; the UK's largest charity fighting hunger and food waste, by saving food from going to waste and redistributing it to frontline charities.

Richard Groome (General Manager at Doubletree by Hilton Hotel and founder of the Awards) says: ‘’The awards are an excellent way to collaborate with the hoteliers and local businesses and recognise the talent within our industry. I cannot wait to see these awards evolve and become something huge - we want to put Southampton back on the map!’’

The award categories which can be nominated by the hotel staff are as follows:

  1. Mentor of the Year
  2. Rising Star of the Year
  3. Young Chef of the Year (Under 25 years)
  4. Front of House of the Year
  5. Top Team of the Year
  6. Business in the Community
  7. Lifetime Achievement Award
  8. Heart of House of the Year
  9. Sales & Revenue person of the Year
  10. The Mayor's Award

Nathan Chart (General Manager at Best Western Chilworth Manor Hotel and Chairman of the Southampton Hoteliers Association) says: ‘’The awards are something that we as a group are so very thrilled and excited about, there is such a buzz! They are a great way for us as managers, colleagues and peers to recognise the work that goes into making our industry thrive.’’

Lou Collins (Marketing & Digital Account Manager at The Marketing Collective, Marketing Partner of the Awards) says: ‘’This is a pioneering awards scheme for the city of Southampton and we are thrilled to be the chosen as the Southampton and Region Hoteliers Marketing Partner.
