Hampshire's Attractions Come Together To Support English Tourism.

Tourism has been one of the most greatly affected industries during the global COVID-19 pandemic. Collaborative group, Hampshire’s Top Attractions saw the doors close for all member attractions during the lockdown period.

However, despite the impact caused and the uncertainty that lies ahead, the 68 strong tourist attractions group has shown support for the recovery of English tourism and have united to share a message of support.

Hampshire’s Top Attractions, managed by destination marketing company, The Marketing Collective, demonstrated during the last 10 weeks how collaborative working is crucial for the industry. With regular zoom calls to share updates, best practice and seeking advice from each other, attractions in Hampshire have remained positive about the future and the recovery.

Tourism in Hampshire is worth almost £3 billion annually to the county’s economy and it’s an industry worth fighting for!

Jo Andrews, Managing Director of The Marketing Collective said "As the attractions started to close at the beginning of the pandemic, it was heartbreaking. The season was about to start and so many plans and campaigns were already running. However, over the weeks, the group have supported each other via zoom calls, Facebook groups, and WhatsApp, and slowly, there have been new plans, ideas, and a new way of working. Hampshire's Top Attractions is a real testament to how well the tourism industry can work together. We are extremely proud of them all."

With some attractions now beginning to open and more looking towards a July opening, there is a renewed sense of passion for Hampshire tourism and offering visitors something unique and special.

A collaborative video that forms the important message of tourism has launched across Hampshire’s Top Attractions social media platforms during English Tourism Week, to help ensure the public that when the time is right and it is safe to do so, Hampshire attractions will be welcoming them back!

Also to celebrate English Tourism Week, the group has launched a competition via social media for children (and adults!) to design and create a new attraction for Hampshire. The closing date is the 12th of June and entries are submitted via Facebook with a chance to win one of 6 family tickets to some of the attractions.
